Gingerbread House

Ingredients:
4 cups flour
1 tablespoon ground ginger
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1 ½ teaspoon backing powder 1 cup soft brown sugar
1 ½ teaspoons golden syrup
¾ cup butter or margarine
3 eggs (beaten)
Method:
Set oven to 200 degrees.
Sift dry ingredients into a large bowl.
Have soft butter in a different bowl with brown sugar use electric beaters.
Add in golden syrup to the butter and sugar and mix.
Add to dry ingredients with eggs and mix with your hands to smooth dough.
Knead only a little bit make sure it’s smooth.
Divide in to 6 pieces.
Get backing paper to fit the tray.
Roll one of the pieces of dough on to the backing paper.
Repeat 3 times.
Bake for 12-15 minutes or until its golden. Leave to cool on trays.
Use leftover dough to make the roof and walls as these might break or make gingerbread man.
Use royal icing to join the walls and roof. Doors and windows can be piped on before assembling or add later with lollies then decorate.
(Optional) if you want to use a bored it needs to be 25 x 25.
